The partnership gives grocers access to point-of-sale, back office, self-checkout, loyalty, and other capabilities to optimize their workflows and drive success.

Chicago, IL, and Laval, QC – October 26, 2026 – IGA, USA, Inc. has announced its new partnership with LOC Software, a leading grocery point of sale (POS) and retail technology software provider. The partnership will give the IGA network of over 3,500 independent grocery stores access to LOC’s configurable suite of software solutions, ThriVersA, which includes the tools independent grocers need to support a successful business.

As part of the partnership, LOC will offer IGA retailers:

  • Hardware-agnostic POS software that runs on any browser-enabled device, from a stationary terminal at the checkout counter to a kiosk, tablet, or mobile POS device.
  • Cloud solutions that minimize on-site infrastructure, centralize IT management, and provide the groundwork for a future-proof technology ecosystem.
  • The industry’s most flexible, grocer-centric approach to loyalty with the ability to analyze customer data to create target offers and design and manage more than 30 points-based  and punch card loyalty programs natively or integrated with popular grocery loyalty solutions. It also includes a built-in coupon wizard that allows grocers to easily make a variety of offers customers can redeem across fixed, mobile, and online, self-checkout points of sale.
  • Multi-Tenant architecture that takes the complexity out of managing multiple locations by operating on a single database, eliminating individual store servers, and enabling real-time data exchange.
  • Systems management via a centralized command center that gives IT directors and their teams control over data flow, communications, and setup without relying on third-party IT services.

ThriVersA also gives grocers complete control of their data, enabling insights that better informs decisions on purchasing, inventory, pricing, promotions, and shopping experiences.

“Our IGA retailers have asked for solutions to help them stay competitive today and give them a foundation to take advantage of new technologies in the future,” said IGA Senior Vice President of Brand Development Michael La Kier. “Our partnership with LOC will create new opportunities for grocers to streamline operations and innovate.”

Gilles Lapierre, CEO of LOC, added, “We are looking forward to expanding our relationships with IGA retailers and providing them with the POS and retail management software they need to evolve with consumers’ expectations and a rapidly changing industry.”
