Our History

The inspiration for LOC began 40 years ago when members of our leadership team met and began to program electronic cash registers to meet merchants’ needs and later developed software to pull sales data from Kingtron cash registers. Innovation continued over the decades that followed.

1989
Our founders established Les Systèmes LOC, offering LOC DOS, a back-office system that communicated with electronic cash registers.
1995
Logiciels LOC (LOC Software) incorporated.
1998
Partnerships helped to bring LOC’s Store Management Suite (SMS) to market, the Windows version of its back-office system, first installed with Cashbox at the point of sale.
2001
LOC introduced LOC SMS V2 Warehouse, which was installed in numerous stores, including 1,400 Seicomart stores in Japan.
2007
LOC launched SMS V3, followed by V3.1.
2008
LOC Portal went live, giving resellers a centralized resource for communications and support.
2010-2015
V3.2 became available, followed by V3.3, and V3.4.
2018
LOC released the first version of eSuite (V350.1/450.1).
2020
LOC released its “Quickstores” solution to meet the increased demand for online shopping during the COVID-19 pandemic.
2024
July 2024 marks LOC’s 35th anniversary of providing point of sale (POS) retail software and renamed its product line ThriVersA.
